A home where everyone can live safely | it's House's universal design homes

Ideally, a home should be a space where everyone can live comfortably and safely.
It is very important that your home is easy to use and safe, even as your age, physical strength, and lifestyle change.
Therefore, at it's House, we have adopted the concept of universal design, which is also suitable for villas in Karuizawa, and have created a design that takes into consideration spaciousness, steps, and safety.

Uses a 9cm wide meter module

A module is a standard dimension used in the design and construction of buildings. Traditionally in Japan, the "shaku module," based on 1 shaku = approximately 303 mm, has been used, but it's House uses the "meter module." The former has a span of 910 mm, while the latter has an additional 90 mm of leeway at 1000 mm. Even if handrails are installed on stairs, the effective width of 750 mm or more required by the Building Standards Act can be ensured. By using the "meter module" for hallways, staircases, bathrooms, washrooms, toilets, etc., even a villa in Karuizawa will have a more spacious and comfortable space.

All buildings are barrier-free, allowing people to live safely and for a long time

The meter module design offers 9cm more width in hallways and other areas than the shaku module, making it easy to use for a wide range of generations, from children to the elderly. For example, it is safe when carrying large luggage or carrying a small child. It is also easy to move around in a wheelchair, making it easy to turn corners without bumping into doors or walls. There are no steps inside the building, which not only makes it easier for wheelchair users but also reduces the risk of falls.

it's House's homes use meter modules that are also compatible with villas in Karuizawa, providing homes where everyone, from children to the elderly, can live safely and comfortably.
We will continue to provide tips and information on how to build a home that is friendly to all who live in it on our blog, so please look forward to it.
